Job Description

Work closely with construction and project managers to design NFPA compliant and Design Building Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression systems.  The posisiton is responsible for fire alarm design, wet chemical and dry chemical design, clean agent design, and provide technician support to technicians in the field.

 

Must be able to draft, design, layout, calculate loads and vdrops for fire alarm and flow calcs for clean agent fire suppression systems.

7+ years of system design in Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems.
Minimum 7 years AutoCAD experience with at least AutoCAD version 10 or higher.
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarms or Special Hazards or working on your level III.
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of fire alarm systems, range hood fire suppression, special hazards (FM-200, Inergen, HFC-125, etc.), and fire sprinkler.
Experience with a variety of system manufacturers including FCI, Notifier, Fike, ANSUL, System Sensor, Wheelock, etc.
Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA Requirements, and Industry Standards for Fire Alarm systems installation.
Experience reading blueprints, knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the Fire Alarm industry.
Experience working with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications and change orders.
Must be familiar with industry codes and standards.

Familiar with standard deliverables and work process on projects
Proficient with MS Office Suite
