Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Technician - Oahu - Hawaii
Work closely with project managers to develop drawings, calculations and equipment application for either fire alarm of fire suppression systems using AutoCAD. Review and interpret engineer specifications. Prepare complex electrical drawings, such as conceptual presentation drawings which meet contract requirements, floor plan layouts, riser drawing, battery and voltage drop calculations. Prepare electrical interconnection drawings, matrixes and technical charts. Maintain project drawing files, drawing library, and associated records and documentation per policies. Coordinate electronic systems projects delivery process from order receipt to project completion. Perform other related duties as required.
This position requires the ability to service, inspect, test, and repair Fire Alarm & Clean Agent systems for established customers on a scheduled basis.
The position also provides technical service to customer support during the installation and commissioning of new or expanded systems.
Performs system modifications as necessary.
Conducts testing and inspects systems under maintenance agreements.
Must be able to identify code and non-conformance issues.
Participates in On-Call assignments/schedules as required. Makes recommendations regarding both systems installations and service contract facilities.
Reports daily on activities completed, deferred, requiring further action or material. Responds and carries out to completion any troubleshooting and repairs to assigned customer systems.

Complete testing and inspecting of fire alarm systems in commercial and government buildings.
Responding to service requests, must be able to accurately diagnose fire alarm system malfunctions and adjust, repair or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance.
Experience in inspecting, repairing and installation of special hazard fire suppressions systems (FM200, Halon, ECARO, CO2, Inergen, etc) is much preferred.
Preparing accurate and timely service tickets and reports.
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in fire alarm inspection and repair.
Experience performing special hazard suppression system inspection and repair is preferred (FM200, Halon, Inergen, etc).
Functional knowledge to test and service the following fire alarms brands: Notifier, FireLite, FCI, FIKE, etc. Valid and clean automobile drivers license.
Has excellent attendance and can handle responsibility.

Work closely with senior managers to drive a profitable organization. The Branch Manager position is a "working" position - responsible for ensuring the success of the branch through excellent Sales, Business Development, Customer Service, and Branch Operations of an already established local full service fire protection company. Perform other related duties as required.
Sales, Business Development & Customer Service
Responsible for checking account and deposit growth, business development, lowering cost of funds, meeting branch sales goals, and cross-selling clients.
Sell all National Fire Protection Company (NFP) products and services.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers to ensure repeat and referral business.
Ensure all branch staff provides highest level of service to current and prospective customers.
Quote, estimate, sell, survey fire alarm, suppression systems, and portable fire extinguishers.
Complete paperwork on a timely basis.
Travel as necessary to attend meetings, training sessions, client surveys, etc.
Ensure branch is profitable and sustainable.
Participate in branch manager meetings.
Responsible for scheduling and staffing all service and construction projects.
Responsible for managing all field personnel including Alarm/Sprinkler Installers, Service Technicians, Fire Inspectors and Schedulers.
Work with NFP senior management to ensure successful advertisement and implementation of new and existing fire protection products.
Work with NFP Operations to ensure the safety and security of branch premises, property and assets (including equipment, inventory, tools, and vehicles.
Work with NFP Operations and Human Resources to provide a safe and healthy work environment (i.e., equip branch with first aid items, ergonomic support, Workers’ Compensation and Employee Assistance Program referrals, OSHA, etc.).
Ensure all Federal and State compliance bulletins/posters are up-to-date and maintained so that employees have easy access to the information.
Responsible for managing the P & L of the branch.
Continue to maintain high installation standards.
Ensure that all inventory levels are maintained.
Conduct employee reviews of direct reports.
Project construction job management.
Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly/FY revenue goals.
Candidates will be required to provide a drivers abstract, pass a drug screen, and background check.
Work in field to supplement revenue. Work includes - but not limited to - inspections, repairs, testing, installation.Requirements10+ years of project, operation, and/or branch management experience.
Minimum 5 years business-to-business and business-to-customer sales experience.
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to manage and coach staff.

Ability to work independently and take initiative and ownership.
Understanding of fire protection products.
Obtain Hawaii fire protection systems and portables licenses
NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarms or Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems or Special Hazards.
Valid drivers license.
Knowledge of fire alarm systems, range hood fire suppression, portable fire extinguisher, special hazards (FM-200, Inergen, HFC-125, etc.), and fire sprinkler.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 75-lbs.
Must be able to climb ladders to heights as needed.
Experience with a variety of system manufacturers including Notifier, Siemens, EST, Gamewell, Honeywell, etc.
Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA Requirements, and Industry Standards for Fire Alarm systems installation.
Experience reading blueprints, knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the Fire Alarm industry.
Experience working with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications and change orders.
Must be familiar with industry codes and standards.
Familiar with standard deliverables and work process on projects
Proficient with MS Office SuiteMust have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be a problem owner/solver.
